Well, I have one daughter who has had quite a lot of work and they were just able to fill … They have the latest and greatest in products, and so they’re able to do white fillings and things that make it look like they haven’t had any work done at all. She has had fillings and a few crowns, a pulpotomy, which is like a little mini root canal. For her, it’s really important to stay on top of it and we did the oral sedation and it worked really well for her. She was able to be relaxed enough that they were able to get the things needed done and it was nice for me because it’s a much cheaper alternative than having to have general anesthesia, which is the next step. My four-year-old son, he had to have a few cavities filled and they were able to do it with the laser and he did a little bit of laughing gas, but he sat through it like a champ, had no problems.
The thing is if they have a bad experience at the dentist, they’re not going to want to come back, but my kids all have had good experiences and so they don’t mind coming to the dentist.
