We come in every six months for cleanings. Then, usually I have one or two kids that has to have fillings done. I also have one child who had to have a pulpotomy done and a crown put on her tooth. Most of my kids have small mouths. He’s done all of our extractions for orthodontic work on my two oldest kids. We’ve pretty much had every service that he offers. He never shows them the shot. They’re very discreet when they do the shot but they’re explaining at the same time so that the kids understand that. A simple staff touching their arm and telling them they’re going to be okay, just being calm and hearing it in their voices. A lot of times you can hear frustration when people are getting frustrated when your kids are getting upset and doing that and you don’t experience that here.
He’s always calm. His voice is calm. His staff’s voices are calm. They talk to them and respect them as a child. They don’t just ignore what they’re saying. They treat them like they deserve to be treated and listened to. I drive up here from Lehigh so about 30 minutes to come up to him. I pass probably 15, 20 different pediatric offices to come up here just to see him. I’ll continue to do it no matter where his office is. We’ve had problems before where my daughter got hit in soccer. He made it a point to get in and look at her tooth and make sure it was going to be okay and that we weren’t going to have to lose it. Had to to put in a permanent brace for it to hold the tooth in place so she didn’t lose that permanent tooth. Just to go above and beyond, just to make us feel comfortable, and address our concerns and not make us feel like, “Oh my heck, call in again with this, it’s so dumb.” They don’t ever make you feel like that.
