Q: When should I first bring my child to the dentist?
We recommend that you bring your child to the dentist around the age of 1. During your child’s first dental visit, we’ll check for tooth and jawbone development and show parents how to properly brush their children’s teeth. We’ll begin light cleanings and exams and fluoride treatments as they get older. Parents can give their children soft rubber toothbrushes while their child is teething and then should brush their child’s teeth daily once the teeth begin to erupt.

Q: Why should I bring my child to you for pediatric and family dentistry services?
Our doctors have completed extensive training to give your children the very best dental care. Dr. Rooklidge, for example, has done training in pediatric medicine, anesthesia, oral growth and development, and more! We can help stop thumb sucking and provide a great experience for your child’s first dental visit.
