As a specialist, I feel like it's my obligation to make it a positive experience. If you want someone to hold down your kid and get the work done, then I'm not the right person. If we see a kid's having a hard time, we're going to figure a way to make it easy for them, but we're here to make it a positive experience. We see kids starting at age one until usually about high school. We're here to guide them through that whole process of getting teeth, losing teeth, getting braces, and fixing any problems that arise along the way. Hopefully, by the time they leave the practice, they'll have a good idea of how to take care of their teeth. Hopefully, as adults, they'll be good dental patients. They have neat little incentives, like if you don't get any cavities, you get to be put in a drawing. She won that drawing one time, and she got to have her picture taken, and she got some little extra coupons and incentives, and that made my other children, 'Oh, I want to be in that drawing.' My girls, they know no different now because they only know the laser and they just love it. I think it has helped them not have anxiety or frustration or to being annoyed to come to the dentist because they just seem so excited overall. We did the oral sedation and it worked really well for her. She was able to be relaxed enough that they we are able to get the things needed done, and it was nice for me because it's a much cheaper alternative than having to have general anesthesia, which is the next step. I drive up here from Lehi, so about 30 minutes to come up to him, and I pass probably 15, 20 different pediatric offices to come up here just to see him and I'll continue to do it, no matter where his office is.
